Sheikh-ul-Islam and Rabbi A.Schneier met on Zoom platform

His Virtue Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh received a zoom call from the President of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation Rabbi Arthur Schneier.
A number of issues related to inter-religious dialogue was discussed during the online meeting which took place in a cordial atmosphere in the spirit of decades of friendship and cooperation between the two leaders. 
During the conversation, Rabbi A. Schneier touched upon the victorious Patriotic War of Azerbaijan and praised the re-establishment of peace in the region. Rabbi A. Schneier recalled with great sympathy his meetings with the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev in New York.
Rabbi A. Schneier stressed that both he and Sheikh-ul-Islam A. Pashazadeh's spiritual mission to the Almighty is a service to peace, and stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue between the religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia. Stating that he is always ready to mediate in this direction and will spare no effort to do so, Rabbi A. Schneier underlined the need for such dialogue in the sake of security and stability in the world and in the region.
In turn, Sheikh-ul-Islam Pashazadeh briefed Rabbi A. Schneier on the bitter consequences of Armenian vandalism in the liberated Azerbaijani lands, the scale of the destruction and insults against religious temples - mosques and churches. Referring to the resolute will of the President of Azerbaijan on the large-scale construction works to restore the demolished and destroyed cities, villages, temples and shrines, A. Pashazadeh expressed confidence that the liberated lands of Karabakh will soon be revived with its new, beautiful appearance. Sheikh-ul-Islam stressed that the whole world witnessed His Excellency President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva as patrons of high moral values, traditional attention and care for Christian and Jewish religious monuments in Azerbaijan. The attention paid to Christian and Jewish religious and spiritual monuments along with mosques in the liberated areas is another confirmation of Azerbaijan's tolerant image in the world, being one of the leading centers in the process of dialogue between cultures, civilizations and religions.
Expressing his gratitude for the meeting, President of the Foundation Rabbi A. Schneier praised the multicultural and tolerant environment in Azerbaijan. Rabbi Schneier asked the Chairman of the CMB to convey his sincere greetings to the head of state of Azerbaijan and expressed his hope to meet with His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev in New York during the upcoming UN General Assembly session.
